Violent deaths. French double agents. Daring fraud. DCI Frank Merlin sets out on his most complex case yet...

War rages across Europe. France is under the Nazi thumb. Britain has its back to the wall. In London, Scotland Yard detective Merlin investigates a series of disturbing events - a young girl killed in a botched abortion, a French emigre shot in a seedy Notting Hill flat, a mysterious letter written by a British officer gunned down in Crete. With action spanning Buenos Aires, New York, Cairo and occupied France, Merlin and his team are plunged into a dark world of espionage, murder, love and betrayal.

The French Spy is the third book in the Frank Merlin Series and follows on from In The Shadows Of The Blitz.

Eleştirmen yorumları

"A richly atmospheric, authentic, and suspenseful detective series set during World War II on the UK's home front. Mark Ellis calls to mind Ken Follett, Alan Furst, and P.D. James." (Joseph Finder, New York Times best-selling author of Suspicion and Guilty Minds)

Overall very enjoyable series although the writer does tend to obe4 complicate the storyline with too many sub plots and twists that make it difficult to marry up without intense concentration!

The narrator is excellent

The detailed background to characters, backgrounds and historical events is vast.
This is not a ‘light’ read. Any reader must be fully engaged - lose concentration for a few minutes and you will need to recap.
A totally absorbing book

Tremendous detail
