Flightless, helpless and often, frankly, more than a little silly, chickens are no match for the cunning, merciless foxes stalking their coop. Or are they?

Thanks to a careless farmer and generations of determined foxes, the chickens on Foxearth Farm have evolved into quick-witted, long-legged, high flying fox dodgers. Then, just a week after a vicious fox ambush in the water trough, three sisters are hatched. And Ransome, Sims and Jefferies are no ordinary chicks: they grow up determined to fight back. They are the legendary Fox Busters.

I absolutely loved this story when I was little and had it on tape... which eventually broke because I had listened to it so often. I dowloaded this for my cousin to listen to and was thrilled to discover that this was the exact same version. A brilliant story which I still find entertaining even though I am now at university! I would recommend this and many other Dick King Smith books for young readers/listeners or parents who want something new to be played on long car journeys!

I could read it over and over again without getting bored. This is really Dick King-Smith.

Wonderful story. Great narration. Perhaps a little old for our 6 year old as it’s a bit violent in places and one of the main characters dies at the end which was upsetting for him. Maybe a better one to read instead as you would be able to censor it.

Great Story Sad Ending - contains spoiler.
