What a shame that it was impossible to finish the book! The reader killed it for me. Out-of-breath nasal voice was just too disturbing. I'd prefer an AI voice to this.

Is this AI read ? I’m struggling to understand why there is very strange pronunciation of standard English words.

Weird pronunciation

The reader makes this almost impossible to listen to (sorry)
Wherever in America they're from it's one of the bits where they pronounce most vowels wrongly, so tech sounds like tack etc
The main protagonist is irksome and the story feels like an AI generated cliché

Utter twaddle with the most annoying narrator

Good story so far bu I almost want to give up. What is it with this narrator? Is it an accent thing (if so I apologise) but instead of “sip his coffee” she says “sep”. Instead of the vowel sound “eh” for “e” she says “A”. ie: “taxt” instead of “text”. Total bastardisation and f vowels. Also end of sentences an audible “aah”. Eg: “Kate, finished getting ready “aah””
Very annoying.
