I liked the overall, but i think that this is a poor ending to the little house series. Its fairly good but i hate to hear the devistation and hardness of laura, almanzo and rose's life. Otherwise ok, although i feel like laura and manly kissed more before they married then after. From imogen, 11 years old. 2025

Good book, but to sad for my taste.

This extra book by Laura was published long after her death and the original series. It is an account of the hopes and hardships her and Almanzo faced in their early married life. Life was indeed tough out on the prairies with basic survival very much in the balance.

As with all the earlier books it is great narration made more enjoyable with the singing.

I love the Little House books - I read them all as a child back in the 70's, so it's great to have them all on audio. This particular title is very short, and is not what I deem to be worth the cost of an entire credit. Clearly, anyone purchasing this has purchased the previous books, and I feel very strongly that it should have been as a free addition to These Happy Golden Years.
