Just what is the mystery behind Raymond O'Connells disappearance? NY Times and USA Today best-selling author Lorhainne Eckhart brings you The Family Secret, an O’Connell family novel, when a body is discovered at the edge of town, rumors, circumstantial evidence, and a chance for revenge lead to one family member’s arrest, and an all out effort to take several other O’Connells down as well.

“Wow what drama, what tension, what suspense.” (Susan Jordens)

“This was a very explosive and heart wrenching story. A body is found and the DA is out for blood. As long as it's O'Connell blood, he doesn't much care whose.” (KEC200)

Raymond O’Connell was the love of Iris’s life - from the day she met him, to the day a year later when she married him, to the tragic night before she never saw him again.

Some would say they had the perfect all-American life. Now, 18 years later, questions arise about the night her husband disappeared, leaving a bloody knife and a letter addressed to her, in which he said goodbye and told her not to look for him, with not even a second thought for her and their six children.

I don’t know how Lorhainne Eckhart managed to pack so much information, suspense and intrigue into a book that’s only 4:32 long but she did and I loved this story. Note: you really should read this series in order for best enjoyment. A lot of things that happen in this book might not be understood as well if you read it on its own.

Iris, the mother of the O’Connell family, has been a side character in the earlier books but she’s front and center in this one. The things that this story reveals were both expected and yet shocking. I really feel like if I say too much it would reveal too much of the story.

If you’ve read the previous books in this series you absolutely must read this one. A lot of things are cleared up and there’s not really a cliffhanger but I can’t wait to listen to the next one as I hope we get more answers for this intriguing family.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

OMG! Best book in the series so far.

Secrets surely have a way of getting out no matter how long it takes. It was really hard to see how judgemental people can be, especially those you expect to know better. The people in the community should have known better but that is life sometimes.
Again, the characters and happenings in this story is so realistic it pulls you into every characters experience and you can’t help but connect with them. Love the narrator.

A memorable read.
