A gripping thriller and a profound spiritual journey that reveals the greatest story never told about the story of Jesus from Mary Magdalene’s perspective!

Two thousand years ago, Mary Magdalene hid a set of scrolls in the rocky foothills of the French Pyrenees, a gospel that contained her own version of the events and characters of the New Testament. Protected by supernatural forces, these sacred scrolls could be uncovered only by a special seeker, one who fulfills the ancient prophecy of l’attendue—The Expected One.

When journalist Maureen Paschal begins the research for a new book, she has no idea that she is stepping into an ancient mystery so secret, so revolutionary, that thousands of people have killed and died for it. She becomes deeply immersed in the mystical cultures of southwest France as the eerie prophecy of The Expected One casts a shadow over her life and work and a long-buried family secret comes to light. Ultimately she comes face-to-face with Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Judas, and Salome in the pages of a deeply moving and powerful new gospel, the life of Jesus as told by Mary Magdalene Supernatural Thriller & Suspense

"It took a tremendous amount of courage to write this book. . . . Its portrayal of biblical characters is hauntingly, disturbingly real. Always interesting to listen to new interpretations of Bible stories. This particular version seems to draw together many ideas that have been floating around for some time and ties them together neatly in a fictionalized world. The long flashbacks to Biblical times stagnated the flow of the modern plot a little but they did present a look into what might have been...

The author's note at the end was an added bonus although it did suggest a level of realism in the novel that is perhaps controversial.

All in all, very entertaining.

Religious conspiracy theory novel

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Certainly takes you on a ride through your own beliefs, especially if you’ve been brought up to belief a certain narrative. Now on to the second installment and then the third. Luckily enough I purchased all three at the same time. Not something I’d usually do, so I believe I was meant to read this wonderful thought provoking series. Loved the narration on audible great choice of narration as Linda’s voice is very mellow and easy to listen too.

Fabulous Read

I’m sorry but the audible version was painful to listen to...the various accents were pure torture..also the childish, sing-songy cadence of the narrators voice drove me to distraction. The only thing worse was the sound of Issas voice which sounded like a person either inebriated or on drugs.
That once said leads me to the story...an ok presentation of an interesting theory but so lacking in historical reality that I often wanted to give up. But I thought it only fair to give it a chance...things like these crude, manual labours from Nazareth speaking fluent Greek and being literate was outright laughable but I guess necessary to making the story work.
Anyway an ok read if you don’t know much about the time of this prophet and don’t care...I did like the concept but would rather have read it from the hand of a much more accomplished author...won’t be reading the others...

better to read than listen...

Unless you want to spend a lot of these 17 odd hours thinking in depth about the life, ministry and passion of Jesus Christ - don't bother downloading this book. If this is of interest to you - it may give you some different ways of looking at these stories. The Narrator was generally very good but those listeners with Irish or Scottish accents may find her attempts at these dialects something akin to nails down a blackboard - I know I did!
