The New York Times bestselling series!

Magical forces clash and Erthia hovers on the brink of ruin in the can't-miss finale of Laurie Forest’s epic fantasy series, The Black Witch Chronicles!

Who can survive the Shadow storm?

Black Witch of prophecy Elloren Gardner Grey has unleashed her powers and embraced her legacy as a Dryad and guardian of the Forest. But the losses—of life, of love—have been almost too great to withstand as the Shadow continues to devour the world. With only a tattered shred of hope remaining, the Bearers of the Wand of Myth must battle their way back to each other to mount a final stand.

But Elloren and her allies are not only facing Mage Vogel's advancing forces—the armies of the Eastern Realm will stop at nothing to see the Black Witch struck down.

With Elloren's bonded mate prophesied to kill her, Shadow demons rising, and the ties between allies unraveling, can this fracturing world unite to face down the coming storm?

this book dragged and dragged and dragged. So many side character POVs that should have been their own books, and the ending felt predictable. And still our belovwd main character doesn't use her supposed super witch powers..no..it wasn't her, had to be the embryo inside her...ffs

the start of this series really drew me in but I was so disappointed with the end. It was drawn out with repetitive circulation of the same plot over and over with obvious twists.

This book did not need to be so drawn out. I was looking for a big ending and it turned into a conservation book about saving the Forrest and people needing to work together. I didn’t need a fantasy book to tell me this, there’s enough of it on the daily news. Boring, didn’t like it and very disappointing.

I liked the character development and general story. Sometimes too many stories and characters and I had to keep referencing wiki fandom to remember who was who.
Final battle was a bit underwhelming and the repetition of some words very distracting. By the end my favourite story was Tierney & Ori' mir. Elloren & Yvan got a bit diluted by the last book with the former still often helpless. the baddie reveal was a bit obvious by the end and RIP Lucas who was one of the best characters.

I re read all the books again and then the final. The first two are most definitely the best. It was overall a fun series to read.
