The Dream Daughter is a page-turning and unforgettable story of love and hope from bestselling author Diane Chamberlain.

When Caroline Sears receives the news that her unborn baby girl has a heart defect, she is devastated. It is 1970 and there seems to be little that can be done. But her brother-in-law, a physicist, tells her that perhaps there is. Hunter appeared in their lives just a few years before – and his appearance was as mysterious as his past. With no family, no friends, and a background shrouded in secrets, Hunter embraced the Sears family and never looked back.

Now, Hunter is telling her that something can be done about her baby's heart. Something that will shatter every preconceived notion that Caroline has. Something that will require a kind of strength and courage that Caroline never knew existed. Something that will mean a mind-bending leap of faith on Caroline's part.

And all for the love of her unborn child.

Everything about this book captivated me! The subject matter - a mother struggling to save her daughter who has a heart problem - the futuristic sci fi element of time travel, and all the twists and turns of the plot made this such a fantastic and heart warming story that I just listen to it over and over again. I'm on my 7th listen of it (on Audible) and it's just as great every time. I literally never get tired of hearing this beautiful story again! The narrator, with her gentle, expressive Southern accent, is perfect, expressing the characters' emotions with compassion and insight. The ending was beautiful.... Just perfect.

This is the best book I’ve listened to for some time. Like another reviewer I kept putting off listening to it as I thought it would be too sci-fi but it isn’t. What a rollercoaster and I was literally on the edge of my seat. I went through all the emotions as a mother and wanted to know the end but didn’t want it to end! The narrator was perfect and I’ll look out for more books read by her. I am a fan of Diane Chamberlain but this is her best in my opinion.

One amazing story!
