For nearly 25 years, Rabbi Small has maintained an uneasy relationship with his congregation. He sees his role as that of a teacher, while they often look to him as more of a spiritual leader. Now, just as his congregation is set to reward him for his long service, the rabbi has decided to explore new options with his life. To make things more complicated, the recent murder of a college professor has the Barnard’s Crossing police baffled. Can the rabbi’s quiet introspection offer insights the police may have overlooked? Personally approved by the author’s estate, narrator George Guidall voices the delightful characters and situations in this final audiobook of an always-intriguing series. The rest of the audiobooks in the series, from Friday the Rabbi Slept Late to One Fine Day the Rabbi Bought a Cross, are also available from Recorded Books.

So sad the series is pretty much over - I have so enjoyed the gentle intelligence of Rabbi Small as well as learning more about Judaism.

Excellent

I've now completed the entire series following the life and times of Rabbi Small from Friday to Resignation. It has been interesting, enlightening, enjoyable, educational and entertaining. As a Christian I have had my eyes widely opened to what I assume is the real doctrine of Judaism, whilst still enjoying a good whodunnit. I'd recommend this series to everyone, irrespective of religious beliefs, customs or upbringing. This isn't going to convert you, it's just going to introduce you to another lifestyle and points of views which may not be too dissimilar to your own.

There is still yet one last book, so all is not yet over.

Fantastic look behind the scenes of Judaism lifestyles

The earlier books were more profound and thought provoking due to its glimpse into the Jewish faith. There's a running joke throughout, which is resolved in this final book. I chose these books because it's my favourite narrator and enjoyed each one enormously.

All good things...
