In this page-turning adventure, Alex must navigate his way through the years to learn that good decisions can have untold impact. This really interesting premise is under-delivered by very repetitive episodes where the main character seems to do little more than whine about why nothing changes. I know the feeling! The narrator sounds like Alan Davies, a studied faux-childlike intonation that I think is meant to be endearing but ends up being annoying. Incongruent Americanisms crop up in relation to driving (getting gas, "pop the trunk", etc) which jar against this British boy-next-door patter. There are some touching moments, not least with the young Jaz, Alex's mum and the introspective internal dialogue during the final encounter with the main character's arch nemesis. Certainly enough to keep me listening to the end.

It’s hard not to draw parallels to the time travellers wife which is my all time favourite book but this is the first thing that has come close to it for me. I rarely leave a written review but I had to for this because I just loved it! One to add to my top 5 that I know I will return to again and again when nothing else is quite hitting the mark ❤️

I just loved it so much

This is one of those you'll either love, or tolerate. I fell into the latter camp. The story has a lot of promise and could have been something exceptional but I feel the author ran out of ideas. The lead character was very unlikable and quite whiny, pathetic even. The story was slow to develop with what felt like a lot of padding.
Overall, I didn't care one jot about him or his life. I had got so far into it, that I did end up finishing it but if I had of stopped half way through, I wouldn't have cared.

Some will like this, I didn't.

Satisfying and well written the story keeps you guessing all the way through with great narration
