In The Darcy Connection, Mr. Collins of Pride and Prejudice is now the Bishop of Ripon, living with his wife Charlotte and their two daughters, who have reached marriageable age. The elder, another Charlotte, is extraordinarily beautiful, and her parents hope her looks and connections will ensure a brilliant marriage. Her sister Eliza, while not as handsome, possesses a lively intelligence that, in Mr. Collins's opinion, is too like her godmother Mrs. Darcy.

In London, Charlotte's beauty wins her many admirers, despite her small fortune. But Eliza's wit and attempts to interfere in what she considers an unsuitable marriage for her sister infuriate her family and Charlotte's suitor - until Eliza herself meets her match.

New and old fans alike will relish this witty, romantic, thoroughly entertaining novel from a highly talented author.

But nevertheless it is amusing and worth a listen. Strong characters (particularly the women) and well read.

Not quite Austen

The characters are like the author scrambled all Austen's characters and story lines and served them up in a delicious new dish, then added some fresh chives and hot buttered toast.

I'm having a ball with this series.

The author has a witty and easy-to-follow way of writing. The plot is more sensational (that is, like the livest kind in Heyer’s novels, such as Devil’s Cub, Frederica and Sylvester) than your usual Austen, even though one must admit that some plot turnings are rather abrupt. The change of Eliza’s sentiments is well portrayed.
Pyllida Nash’s narration is as superb as ever.

An enjoyable listen

Charming, well written and a heart warming happily ever after without being insipid. Narration is superb.
