Compton Magna and Nether Bagot sit high on the Fosse Hills to either side of the Gloucestershire/Warwickshire border, just half a mile apart. They form the backdrop to this rich story of secrets and rivalries, as glamorous Ronnie Ledwell returns to take up the reins of her father's horse breeding stud farm, years after she scandalised family and friends by eloping with her lover. News of her return will well and truly set the cat among the pigeons...©2017 Fiona Walker (P)2019 W. F. Howes Ltd Contemporary Fiction Genre Fiction Kurgu Komik Düşündürücü Kediler

A delight to hang out in horsey heaven again. Slightly spoiled by the narrator’s caricatures- thoroughly undermines any romance and gets in the way of any attempt at characterisation.

It's not often a book makes me chuckle to myself as I'm listening but this one really does, it's the little details and quirky jokes that make this something special. I was new to Fiona Walker so I was pleased with this real find. It's a gem of a book and Jilly Bond is really bringing out the humour.

Little laughs out loud

I unexpectedly enjoyed this book. The storyline is a little far fetched but so what. It is a combination of escapism, animals, cookery and friendships wrapped up in the effort and challenges of everyday life and living. At 26hrs I had thought it would drag, but found it a great accompaniment to gardening and working around the house. It made me laugh out loud at times. I’d recommend it is you are looking for some light relief. I’ll be purchasing the sequel.

Good Fun

Such a great romp of a nook, but the narration is dreadful. She managed to make all the women sound like pensioners and most of the men like idiots...

Loved this book. Liked the narration. Really want to know what happens next. As soon as the next in the series becomes available on audible I will be getting it. So hurry up Amazon and get it on.
