Neil Kettle is a detective chief inspector with Devon and Cornwall Police Force, in charge of the major crime investigation team. A widower, he comes through depression by using his work as support.

A countryman, the son of a farmer, Neil is in touch with the landscape as he hunts down serial killers, murderers, drugs and weapons smugglers, human traffickers, rustlers, and even the Beast of Bodmin Moor. A country copper with a strange mind, a weary heart, and quick fists. What could possibly go wrong?

in all I did actually rate the books , the plots were decent and really would of kept me reading/ listening if it hadn't been for the authors odd decision to narrate them himself . Sadly the weird monotonous tone of his rather nasal voice made it really hard going just to keep paying attention and the recursing quality was very frustrating with sound dropping and rising frequently.
had this been narrated by someone else it would of likely been a half decent series but the author/ narrator just doesn't have the voice for keeping anyone entertained ..a big, rather annoying let down in all which is a shame as it could of been so much better .
in future narration should be done by somebody else

half decent stories are let down by the narration and poor quality audio

It was a very enjoyable story, the bad pronunciation on a lot of words I found really annoying and off putting, which detracted from the overall enjoyment.
The narration was very monotone, if you aren't careful you can loose the plot a bit and loose which character it talking.

Good Story.

Stumbled upon this by accident, the first story is let down slightly by the poor quality of the recording, however, the storylines, characters and everything else are great, also well researched, I like the fact that although set in Cornwall, there are fictional locations as well as real ones, I've really enjoyed this series.

Great story lines, well written.

Managed to finish 1st book - just to hear outcome. Cannot bring myself to listen to other books in set.

Horrendously boring narration
