Three more dastardly deeds lead Holmes and Lucy into a lurid game of cat-and-mouse. The game won’t end until a climactic showdown between the Baker Street team and a ruthless and deadly ring of rogue cops who believe they’re above the law.

The Bloomsbury Guru

Two wealthy, influential women have gone missing, both associated with a fashionable enlightenment group run by a charismatic guru. As the Baker Street team investigates, they are taken down dark twists and turns, and forced to confront an old enemy anew.

Holmes Takes a Holiday

The Baker Street team heads to glamorous Lake Windermere in search of two missing ladies, and ends up investigating two macabre murders. Holmes believes the events are all connected, but the closer the team gets to the truth, the more perilous their mission becomes.

Holmes Picks a Winner

The Baker Street team has been working tirelessly to track down their abducted associate and free her from the clutches of the Syndicate. A long trail of clues has led the team to the Royal Ascot Racetrack, where they end up embroiled in an explosive final face-off with a familiar foe.

I had in a previous review mentioned my dislike of change of narrator after so many stories listening to the original one.
It took a couple if books but I am enjoying the story telling once more. It was a little disconcerting to suddenly hear Flynn as Irish, but I needn’t have worried, as in subsequent books he turned back to a Londoner! Great stories despite my little niggle of the mispronounciation of many words.

Very entertaining

I have listened to many of this series, working my way through and I thoroughly enjoy the inventiveness of the stories and the obviously well researched history. However, the earlier books have quite dreadful narration with dodgy accents not even consistent from actor to actor - making Flynn Irish or butchering Cockney, or making Becky and Jack posh not East End! All of which detracted from the stories and had not been caught or corrected by the editor. However, Mary is great and can ably cover all the characters. Nibs is hilarious- puts me in mind of Su Pollard in the 80s. (UK reference!) Bravo Mary - let’s hope she is left to get on with the future books!! The plot development through the books is too good to put me off listening but it’s much more enjoyable when they are well read.

Much improved narration

A good compilation of 3 stories included in the membership. All stories are easy listening and performed well for a free book.

A good compilation
