Some mysteries never stay buried.

When a terrified woman hires private investigator Ethan Blackwood to uncover who has been breaking into her home, the evidence points toward a relentless stalker determined to destroy her life. A shattered mirror. Threatening messages. A home that doesn't feel safe anymore.

But as Ethan follows the trail, he discovers that nothing about the case is what it seems.

The deeper he digs, the more he is forced to confront a painful truth: the greatest mysteries are not hidden in abandoned houses, forgotten records, or darkened streets. They are hidden within people.

As the investigation spirals toward a revelation neither of them is prepared to face, Ethan must decide whether justice and mercy can exist side by side-or whether some tragedies leave only broken pieces behind.

The first novel in The Blackwood Mysteries series.

This writer has potential but definitely needs some creative writing classes to push them forward a tad. Needs to remember the maxim “show don’t tell”. An editor would be good too. But definite potential and a nice premise.

A lot of exposition but nothing really happens. Narrator very dry and monotone. Conclusion unsatisfactory.

The ending was completely unexpected. I had guessed at what might be going on but I hadn't dreamed it would end like that.
