A large country mansion. A locked room. A gruesome murder.
Russian oligarch Alexander Volkov has invited 1000 guests to a party at his palatial Surrey residence, Westgrave Hall. But while giving a private tour of the library, a gunman kills Volkov, wounding his ex-wife and slaying her new beau. Nothing makes sense to DCI Craig Gillard. In the blood-spattered crime scene there are no forensic traces of anyone else involved, CCTV shows no one entered or left the library, and everyone seems to have an alibi. Is it a crime of revenge, the squaring of a love triangle, or a Russian government operation? Could the victims have simply shot each other? Gillard’s eventual discovery is shocking even to him.
A gripping crime thriller from a master of the genre, The Bodies at Westgrave Hall will leave you guessing until the very end. Crime Thrillers Gerilim Gizem Kurgu Polisiye Prosedür Suç Thriller & Suspense Heyecan verici

I nearly didnt listen to it, the first couple of chapters were complicated and dull to my old brain! I’m pleased I persisted, how the author can sort all this out in his mind is a wonder to me. Absolutely loved it and it kept me guessing right to the end

Enthralling

I have listened to the whole series more or less back to back, and each one has been brilliant, allowing you to uncover the evidence almost at the same time as Gillard and his team, and each with lots of twists and turns.

Marston York's characterisation is superb throughout the series.

My only disappointment now is that I'm up to date, with, currently, no more to listen to!

Another Excellent DCI Gillard Story

The author tried to over complicate the plot, the performance was actually amusing- the detectives sounded like bad Michael Caine impersonators!
After that said, I have listened to worst, and supposedly it did have a twist in the end…. But almost saw it coming.
