The blackbird is one of the most familiar of all British birds and its song is a great favourite. Enjoy the beautiful melodies created by this much-loved songbird in the British Library's new collection of recordings, which reveal the extraordinary virtuosity, splendour, and magic of its song.

From the poet Edward Thomas to the Beatles, the blackbird has been an inspiration to writers, composers, and the wider public for many centuries. The recordings that form this audio download have been sourced from across Europe to ensure the highest possible quality, show why, and offer a compilation of sound portraits that promises hours of listening pleasure. A wonderful listening experience for anyone interested in birdsong.

no story, just the beautiful song of the blackbird. Also, the background sounds add to the feeling of being amongst nature - wood pigeons, a flog of geese, flying insects. There's even some distant church bells.

the blackbirds told their stories very nicely, they all had excellent voices and made me feel more relaxed and happy by each chapter.
Unfortunatly, at the very end a human interrupted by saying I hope you enjoyed this audiobook in a very loud and unrelaxing way.
Maybe Audible can exchange this with a blackbird saying the same thing but in their own language.

Very relaxing
