A missing brother. Old friends. New Enemies.

A bungled raid leads DC Craig Hunter back to his old unit in Edinburgh, he has a chance to rebuild his career on a new high-profile case.

When he receives a mysterious message from his brother, Murray, indicating he might have been killed, Hunter must head up to the Scottish Highlands, desperate to pick up his brother’s trail in the Black Isle, the mysterious stretch just north of Inverness.

But the more Hunter digs, the less hope he has of learning Murray’s fate. What was Murray doing up there? Was it connected to his lucrative YouTube channel? Or worse, was it connected to the man housesitting for Murray—Hunter’s estranged father, Jock?

This edition contains a bonus episode of the Crafty Butcher podcast, as featured in the novel.

Angus King is a master narrator. The bonus chapter was hilarious. Loving this whole series. 5 Stars

Excellent again

Another great listen from Ed James. I thought his knowledge of the oil rigs was particularly impressive. Loved the way characters were introduced that were unexpected (no spoilers from me!!). The one character I do have to comment on is Bain. In my last review I gave an excoriating opinion about him. I hated him and he actually spoiled the book for me. I almost didn’t listen to this book as I knew he would be in it however I love this series of books so bit the bullet and to my surprise he was not as obnoxious as usual. His participation with Elvis in the podcasts was hilarious so he has redeemed himself ( or Ed has). What can you say about Angus. He builds the tension superbly when necessary and is always an outstanding narrator.
