One life. Many roads. Which one will Alex choose?

France 1734. Alex has only one wish to live with his clan in his beloved Scotland, and one day to lead them as chieftain. But recognising his abilities, his father has more ambitious plans for him, and sends him to study in Paris, hoping that one day he will be able to make the MacGregors legal again.

Homesick and unhappy, Alex tries to make the most of his time abroad, eager to please his father and make him proud.
When a chance meeting opens up new possibilities, Alex has to decide whether to choose the certainty of personal happiness or to risk everything to pursue far greater goals.

A sequel to The Highlanders Tale, this book continues the story of Alex MacGregor, now a young man, as he continues his journey through adolescence into adulthood, learning the skills he will need to survive his unique destiny.

Love the detailed style of writing Julia has. The characters become like real people you can identify with rather than just being fictional . As this is part 1 am hoping there is a part 2 continuing Alex ‘s story .

Having read ALEX enjoyed his continuing journey through life as he grows up further

Wonderful narration as always. Fab back story to Alex. A little hard in places to marry up the stories that have gone before but superb story writing and researching to make it as convincing as possible.
If you love the other books, you'll love this. looking forward to part 2!

A fantastic story covering the start of Alex's student adventures in Europe and the chrysalis of Sir Anthony. The storyline is both gripping and educational. Narration excellent. Waiting impatiently for part 2.
