Sophie Mills has worked her Manolo Blahniks off to reach the near-top of her profession. I have really enjoyed listening to this story, it has held my imagination to the end. The author, characters and narrator were very good.

I appreciate that I haven't had a lot to do with 3 year olds or 6 year old but I can't beleiev that they would be able to hold lengthy involved conversations and observations.
I know a little more about social sevices and their employees so if this kind of laissé faire treatment of a difficult situation as a dead parent, an absent second parent and a " guardian" who doesn't know either child, and is absolutely cluless about the necessary needs of these children both mental and phsical, can just abandon these children with a small amount of supervision
That being said, it was a good narration of a reasonable but predictable listen.
Hey it was free, what's not to give it a try.

As a mother I was screaming at the Alexa device. I didn't even manage to finish the book as it wound me up so much I was angry and found no enjoyment in the listen.

Frustrating

It was an amazing book to listen to. It made me think about a lot of things and how I would feel suddenly looking after 2 young children.
