With a cameo by Mindy Kaling, Regina Hall performs this captivating romantic comedy with a thrilling sci-fi twist!

Trinity Jordan leads a quiet, normal life: working from home for the Hive, a multifunctional government research center, and recovering from the incident that sent her into a tailspin. But the life she’s trying to rebuild is plagued by mishaps when Li Wei, her neighbor’s super sexy and super strange nephew, moves in and turns things upside down.

Li Wei’s behavior is downright odd—and the attraction building between them is even more so. When an emergency pulls his aunt away from the apartment complex, Trinity decides to keep an eye on him...and slowly discovers that nothing is what it seems. For one thing, Li Wei isn’t just the hot guy next door—he’s the hot A.I. next door. In fact, he’s so advanced that he blurs the line between man and machine. It’s up to Trinity to help him achieve his objective of learning to be human, but danger is mounting as they figure out whether he’s capable of the most illogical human behavior of all...falling in love.

Took me a while to get past the first chapter. But once I started, I couldn't stop.

A nice engaging story.

Brilliantly written and narrated. The worldbuilding was immersive and convincing and terrifying too. Alyssa Cole made my cry over the heroism of some domestic appliances at one point and I never thought that could happen.
The romance was beautiful, just as I hoped. I got an audible account just so I could buy this as I just knew it would be smart, sensitive and fun.

Perfect romantic sci-fi - beautiful, smart, funny

I struggled to finish this. Just found it quite boring and predictable. I also didn't Like the real life sounds effects.

A bit too boring and "cheesy" for me

4.2⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️& 0.5🌶️. This was a very different sci-fi romance. I did struggle to get into it, the first few chapters were a bit odd. But once you adapt your brain from the usual in romances and our MMC arrives, this becomes a great story. The twist at the end was fantastic and I really didn’t see any of it coming. If you’ve ever watched the series ‘humans’ this deffo gave me those vibes. I did really enjoy it and the audible narrators were incredible! I hope we get a cameo of these characters in the future linked book as they’re great! And I must know what that space craft was up to…

What was that space craft up to anyway?

I enjoyed the AI Love interest energy and also that it wasn’t just a standard romance as it had twists and turns of other genres mixed in

Surprisingly good - loved the twist
