Declan

I'm destined to become the next CEO of my family's media empire. The only problem? My grandfather's inheritance clause. Fulfilling his dying wish of getting married and having an heir seemed impossible until my assistant volunteers for the job.

Our marriage was supposed to be the perfect solution to my biggest problem. But the more we act in love for the public, the more unsure I feel about our contract. Caring about Iris was never part of the deal. Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.

Iris

My plan to marry Declan was simple in theory. Move in together. Throw a wedding. Have a baby. We set rules to prevent any kind of issues. Ones that were never meant to be broken, no matter how much Declan tempts me. But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one?

Falling in love was never an option. At least not for me.

Contains mature themes.

Yooo the way I DEVOURED this??? In less than 24 hours? I just love it when these tropey love stories are done WELL. The romance was so believable and such a slow burn, they only got together after the 75% mark of the book even though they were married? Beautiful.

Ps. What is is with these women marrying billionaires and insisting on working? My girl just got a 300mil check and didn't resign the next day?? Only unrealistic thing about this book imo.

So good

The female narrators voice was not fit for the age of the character and you can hear her swallow multiple times.
Made the experience for me very cringe.

The narration of this book was the worst I have ever experienced.

This should have been recorded as a duet. The female narrator did a great job with the FMC but whenever she did a male voice it sounded like an elderly African American. Then on the chapters with the male narrator the cadence was totally different and pulled me out of the story.

Liked the book but unfortunate narrator choice

Great book but it seems like the editing only happened for when the male narrator spoke. For the woman, swallowing can be heard a number of times, which is a shame. Why didn’t they edit that out?

Love the book but..

I normally love audiobooks but this was was the hardest one to finish. The story is a decent, cliche and unrealistic but good overall.

But the performance was torturous… the female narrator was the worse choice for this book and honestly she destroyed the experience overall.

Just buy the book - terrible performance
