Loretta has life under control. She's good at avoiding things that make her uncomfortable, she's chasing a big promotion at work, and she’s marrying a man whose five-year plan aligns perfectly with her own. Children do not come into the mix. This all changes, however, when a stranger in an airport asks Loretta to keep an eye on her sleeping six-year-old, Phoebe.

I enjoyed listening to this story - great narration! A bit different to my usual choices but a heartwarming story that is worth a listen.

I loved this book. it was beautifully written. the narration was fab. a great read

This completely took me by surprise. I thought I had it all figured out at the beginning and was pleasantly surprised when it went in ways I wasn't expecting. It was great at making you think it was about to fulfil some trope or other, and then shake its finger at you with a small smile.

The main character has a great way of putting things, and I found myself smiling and agreeing a lot. Phoebe is wonderful and the other characters are also brilliant, and so real!

I'm not ashamed to say this made me tearful at points. It covers topics such as grief, relationships, parenting, with such insight and sensitivity. I also laughed though. it paints such a full picture of life - warts and all.

Safe to say I love it, and the narrator is terrific at all the voices and performance. Just brill.
