SOPHIE: I knew better than to go to that party. I would have been much happier curled up at home eating Halloween candy by myself, but I had Mom’s voice in my head telling me to make an effort now that I was in college, to put myself out there and socialize. If I’d stayed home, I wouldn’t have met him.

SILVAN: Men have always committed atrocities chasing after their desires. The men in my family have it down to an art form. Personally, I’ve never experienced a desire that ran so deep it poisoned my soul. Until the night I laid eyes on her. It’s really too bad she didn’t feel the same way. It could have been a fairy tale. I guess our story was meant to be something a little more twisted. Oh well. I desire Sophie Bradwell, and I don’t care how many terrible things I have to do to get her… and keep her.

Surrender was previously released as Sophie’s Surrender by the same authors, but this is the first audio release of this story. This Coastal Elite re-release contains the exclusive Coastal Elite bonus story, Sleeping Beauty.

This is a dark romance intended for a mature adult audience. If you have sensitivities to certain themes commonly found in dark romance, please make sure you listen to the author’s note at the beginning of the book.

As much as one can, I recommend Surrender. The duet narration is great and the story is typical of the dynamic that SM writes. I will always go soft for OTT j/p MMCs. But a lot of the goodwill the author has built over this series and with her other dark romances gets somewhat ruined with Sleeping Beauty. Because Aubrey and Dare are not the A and D we left in Contempt/EiiH. and I really still don't like Hannah. The duet narration really locked me in though which I really enjoyed.

4 star for Surrender 1.5 star for Sleeping Beauty

My goodness Silvan’s obsession with Sophie was on another level the man never gave her a chance to breathe. His obsession is described as some family trait the men in his family have but to go the lengths he did for Sophie smh. Sophie was a victim and never stood up for herself she was also a loner which made her prey to Silvan but their relationship was unique and she put up with his antics. What I gathered from this series are the male characters are majorly flawed but the women love them flaws and all.

Obsession to another level

This book is great. I love the very fine line these authors balance on with dub con/non con. With an amazing performance from both narrators it really makes this book special.

Silvan is a very patient, very devious man. He wants Sophie, and he won’t take no for an answer, so he does whatever it takes to get her to agree. He breaks down her barriers, makes sure she’s always satisfied. He pays close attention to her, learns her likes, her fears, her worries.
Sophie is a shy timid thing, she isn’t sure what to think of Silvan and his aggressive approach, but she soon realizes just how much he does for her, and deep down she likes his darkness.
This was devious and dark, filled with angst, passion, chaos, deception, devotion, passion, and plenty of spice. It was addictive, dark & beautiful.

Seductively dark
