It’s summer in Adders Fork. The sun is out, the sky is blue and things are going swimmingly for Rosie Strange. The Essex Witch Museum has been relaunched with a new Ursula Cadence wing and picnic grounds. Then developers roll into the sleepy village to widen the road.

When the centuries-old Blackly Be boulder, said to mark the grave of a notorious witch, is moved, all hell breaks out. Within hours a slew of peculiar phenomena descends, and when a severed head is discovered atop the boulder, the locals storm the museum to demand someone take action.

Can Rosie and Sam unravel the mystery? And what of the ancient treasure that could drastically change someone’s fortunes and offer a motive for murder?

I found this story quite difficult to get into, but persisted liking the narrator’s humour and style very much. The story became interesting and I liked the main characters. Still not sure about the story line, but the way it is delivered made me chuckle often.

Lovely narration

I firstly read strange magic then strange fascination, not knowing which book was next was helpfully told at the end "Strange Tombs" great if I could find it in audio format! ! These books always live up to my high expectations, each one giving more depth to each character, I'm loving them and would recommend if it was clear which order they are supposed to be read. My only compliant otherwise 5 stars, Sorry!!

wonderful, Why can't I find Strange Tombs???

Another excellent story by Syd Moore. There are for me many twists and turns. Keeps you interested right up to the climax. Well done Syd. Can we have more of the same?
