Özet
Celebrated actor, personality, and all-around nerd Wil Wheaton updates his memoir of collected blog posts with all new material and annotations as he reexamines one of the most interesting lives in Hollywood and fandom!

Wil Wheaton grew up.

Ideally, this is what everyone does. But most of us don’t do it in front of millions of people. Wil was a very famous kid – right up until he wasn’t. After that, he wasn’t sure who he was at all.

So, in 2001, he started a blog. It was less about being a famous child than about being a not-so-famous grownup. He wrote about his pets and his hobbies, punk rock and parenting, board games and birthdays and (most importantly) burritos.

He thought he was writing for an audience of one: himself. To be fair, he was only off by about 3 million people. In Still Just a Geek, an older, somewhat wiser Wil revisits Just a Geek, his 2004 collection of posts from that blog, with all-new reflections on nerd culture, fame, love, trauma, tragedy, and confronting the worst parts of yourself.

Equal parts funny and poignant, Still Just a Geek explores the folly of youth and the pain of experience – and all the strange, awful, beautiful adventures in between.

This book broke my heart and mended it again. I’m so glad I got the audio version because the emotion in Wil’s voice made this a million times more relatable. I wish I could hug him.

Gut wrenching masterpiece

I'm writing this as a fan of Wil. the stories and info in here are great. and it would be easily 5* if some of the constant apologising and repeating was cut. This audiobook could easily be a few hours shorter if that was cut without losing any of the good stuff.
I had to come back to this book several times due to the endless apologies in the first few hours. I'm really glad I stuck with it though, Wil is great and his story deserves to be heard

Good but tough to get though

He talk a lot about start trek and trek related things. Which I loved!

Interesting insight into his career and life.

And because it’s so long it lasted me ages and meant I spent less on other books.

Lasted me ages and was good for a Trekkie

Will is a great reader and unlike some readers kept me interested
It was a very revealing and frank life story and touched on a lot of real issues and how he overcame them
I started the book because of my interest in star trek and his story but it was a very frank and at times moving biography
Especially working through mental abuse and lack of childhood watching the characters on screen you think its a great job but for will it goes to another level
Regardless of your interest in will wheaton
This is a must read / listen

In depth autobiography

It’s long. Stupidily and yet so amazingly. It’s been around 2 weeks since I finished listening and I’m still thinking about things said.

I grew up with Wil on Next Gen, hearing the stories of those times, never knowing the politics and mistakes made.
He is a human, and yes he admits his mistakes and faults in this analysis of his original book. It made me think how much I’ve grown, and how much times have changed.

I saw a lot of the changes I have made in my life in this, in phrases and words we use - Wil is a little more ahead than the most of us…

Either way a good listen for anyone interested

W. Learning and Growing like the rest of us
