Stepsister takes up where Cinderella's tale ends. We meet Isabelle, the younger of Cinderella's two stepsisters. Ella is considered beautiful; stepsister Isabelle is not. It doesn't matter, though; these qualities are not valued in a girl. Others have determined what is beautiful, and Isabelle does not fit their definition. Isabelle must face down the demons that drove her cruel treatment of Ella, challenge her own fate and maybe even redefine the very notion of beauty . . .

Cinderella is about a girl who was bullied; Stepsister is about the bully. We all root for the victims, we want to see them triumph. But what about the bullies? Is there hope for them? Can a mean girl change? Can she find her own happily ever after?

I hope this ushers in a new wave of more understanding and stronger girls hooked on classic stories from disney. I love this story underneath the one known so well

Easy to understand the narrator and they make it very engaging. Super interesting to hear what happened to Cinderella stepfamily after she is gone, after Cinderellas got her happy ending.

I enjoyed listening to this story on Audible. The narration was good and easy going. I loved the "how it all began" with all it's gritty details story, as opposed to the "and it was all Happy Ever After" ending.
I found the build up and back story to the step sisters really interesting and gave me clarity to the Cinderella classic. If anything it left me feeling sorry for the stepsisters and having a clearer understanding of them. I still disliked the stepmother intensely. After hearing this it has made me want to hear other "Altered Tales" by this Author..
