Growing up in Stenhouse meant learning fast, laughing often and finding adventure almost everywhere.
From football in the parks and skating at Murrayfield to skateboarding, skiing, school days, family life, music, fashion, early technology and the changing streets of Edinburgh, STENHOUSE captures a childhood shaped by close friendships, freedom and the unforgettable characters who made the area what it was.
Bill Rectangle looks back on the funny, chaotic and sometimes dangerous moments that defined his early years. There are bikes, broken bones, gang fights, ski trips, skateparks, Nintendo dreams, local legends, family struggles and the small acts of kindness that stayed with him long after childhood ended.
Honest, nostalgic and full of humour, this memoir is not only about one boy growing up. It is about a place, a generation and a time when children spent their lives outdoors, friendships were fiercely loyal and every street seemed to hold another story.
Rough, warm, wild and deeply personal, STENHOUSE is a tribute to the family, friends, music, football, ice skating, skateboarding, skiing and memories that helped shape the person Bill became.
