Even the icy grip of death itself couldn’t claim Sylvas as he returns to Strife.

Another trial, another victory. Sylvas is a star clearly on the rise, one that has been noticed far beyond his tiny sphere. Countless powers have turned their gaze towards him and now watch him eagerly as he competes with the best that the Ardent have to offer. Will he continue his ascent? Will he falter? Only time will tell.

World building is good and what keeps me interested. MC is dull however and makes the book a little hard work to get through.
Not in the Same league as iron prince.
Pretty good overall though.

The scene, characters, skillsets, and magical fighting scenes are well developed. The start of the book is pretty slow and a bit uncomfortable to listen to, but once the action gets going it leads up to a great finish. I'm looking forward to the next book.

It's tricky to reflect on this story without revealing elements of the narrative. But, its not original and in some ways boring and pointless emotionally provocative. If the story continues beyond this then I see a value, but if the new element continues I wont continue with this author.

Tired of this trauma narrative.
