Bernard Samson is a spy on the run. But in the murky streets of Berlin, he knows where to hide. Wanted for an act of treachery he has not committed, he must not only escape the grasp of London Central, but get to the bottom of a tangled conspiracy that is about to change everything. In the thrilling penultimate instalment of the Hook, Line and Sinker trilogy, Bernard's personal and professional life collide with devastating consequences.

Spy Line is vigorous and sleazy, psychologically complex and action-packed. It is always exciting.
This is vintage Deighton.
No one can evoke the city of Berlin better than Deighton.
Deighton's outstanding achievement is the nine-volume series chronicling the life and times of Bernard Samson ... Deighton's Samson trilogies are as much about the elusiveness of human interactions as espionage. Spying is not a secret world sealed off from ordinary life but an extension of the world we all live in. (John Gray)

Longwinded with little purpose. A chore to listen to - not worth a read. Lacks focus with too much peripheral verbiage. The core story was flimsy and not susceptible to close interrogation. A bedtime audiobook just one step above the crowd.

Lacklustre

Deeper and darker. Such a shame that you require at least 15 words to leave a review.

Marvellous

Read brilliantly, great story. it says you can read the series in any order, but I would strongly recommend reading them in order

Great book

The story is picking up pace with some great reveals. Characterisation and settings are beautifully described. A joy to listen to.

Another great Samson novel

While I'm sure this would work as a stand-alone novel, I certainly recommend reading the preceeding stories. I have really enjoyed all of them; characters & plot cleverly drawn & narrated superbly.

Another excellent piece of work
