Alison's shady ex needs to use her haunted guesthouse as a hideout in the latest from the national best-selling author of Ghost in the Wind.

Where Alison Kerby's ex-husband goes, trouble follows. This time, unfortunately, he's brought that trouble right to her doorstep. On the run from a business deal gone bad, Steven, aka "the Swine", owes some scary people a staggering sum of money. No need to panic, though. He has a plan: sell Alison's Jersey Shore guesthouse to pay them off. Before Alison has a chance to read Steven the riot act, he disappears - after a mysterious man trailing him ends up full of bullet holes. Now the police are next to darken her doorway. For all his faults, Steven is still the father of Alison's daughter, so with the help of ghosts Maxie and Paul, Alison sets out to find her ex and clear him of the murder. But if the bad guys get to him first, he may not have a ghost of a chance....

I really have enjoyed this book series and there are still many more books to come. Amanda Ronconi's performance is wonderful as always. The story was interesting and funny. I had an idea what was going on and most people will guess the situation. But it's just an enjoyable ride.

I have listened to eight of these books now. Really good story ideas. Great setting and I love the characters. Alison can be irritating at times but that is the way she is written, Amanda Ronconi reads her really well, it’s just so much of what she says is patronising. And the over reference to the ‘swine’ went on too much in this book. Using his name or saying the ex would have been better in my view.
Amanda brings this whole series to life with her excellent characterisation and sarcastic intonation.
Although her driving around in a ‘vulva’ did make me laugh out loud. Missed that one in the edit.
One the whole. I would highly recommend these books , very uplifting and entertaining.
Thank you for doing such a great job.

Great premise for a tv drama

Absolutely love this series, really enjoying the books & all the characters, however please check details before quoting things. The narrator states they are watching Young Frankenstein & it was their favourite bit where Gene Hackman pours soup on to a lap...
Gene Hackman isn't in Young Frankenstein
Maybe should have gone with Gene Wilder instead...

Love series but need to check details

I have spent many pleasant hours following Allison's adventures, and this one tried her patience and caustic sense of humour with very entertaining results. It appears as if the author wanted to provide us with some sort of closure in case he didn't get to continue with the series, and I appreciated the reassurance about the fate of this bunch of much-loved characters. I have seen there is one more book published in the series, and another one in the works, which is great news! I can't wait for Audible to release the audiobook, please hurry!

Lovely as ever
