Özet
Magic rivals. A deadly secret. An inconvenient crush. What could possibly go wrong? A perfect LGBT+ romantic fantasy for fans of Rainbow Rowell, Margaret Rogerson and Adam Silvera!

Edison Rooker is determined to gain access to the magical world. Problem is, he doesn’t have magic. But he does have a plan: get a job as apprentice to powerful sorceress Antonia Hex. He also has an illegal Spell Binder device, which he must keep hidden from the Magical Consortium, at all costs . . .

With his new job, Edison is given a new name – Rook – which he happily accepts. He’s less happy about working alongside Sun, the grumpy but annoyingly cute apprentice to Antonia’s big rival.

When the Consortium gets wind of Rook’s Spell Binder, they come for Antonia. Rook turns to the only other magical person he knows: Sun. The two must team up to save Antonia . . . or face losing their magic forever.
Funny, subversive, romantic fantasy from New York Times bestselling author F. T. Lukens. Look out for So This is Ever After and In Deeper Waters.

loved this story, it didn't do the usual magic angle and was interesting and cute! The voice actors were also great and lived seeing both perspectives of the main characters

hooked, my fave story so far

By now, I pick up every new work FT releases because their stories and characters never seize to put me under their spell.
And this is certainly no exception, I fell in love with the wonderful cast right away - my favourite being Sun - and both narrators do a great job bringing everything to life.

Another compelling and heartwarming tale from FT!

I need a moment for the cover because honestly, that’s what sold me on this book 😂 I knew nothing about it or the author before hand (I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover…but I totally did) and glad I did cause I really enjoyed this! I’ll be interested to read more by this author! I tandem read with the audiobook and think the narrators did a brilliant job of the characters.
The story followed two 16 year old apprentices that worked for rival (enemy) sorcerers. Which in turn made them rivals. Regardless their interactions were always so cute! (They both may beg to differ 🤣). They worked to “fix” hexes and spells for the public, which were at times comical (children with pig noses and singing mice).
Written in First Person with 2x POV’s. Narrated by Kevin R. Free & Neo Cihi. YA Fantasy, MMC/NBMC, Grumpy x Sunshine, Rivals to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Found Family, Opposites Attract, Magic and Sentient Objects.
