The fourth book in the compelling SPELLSLINGER fantasy series.

Kellen and his murderous squirrel cat, Reichis, are on their own. They've heard rumour of a mythical monastery, known as the Ebony Abbey. It's a place that outsiders can never find - but Kellen is getting desperate. He's been told that the monks inside the Ebony Abbey know more about the Shadowblack than anyone else - and that they even know how to cure it.

Then Kellen and Reichis are separated and for the first time, Kellen must face the world alone - and venture deeper into shadow magic than he ever knew he could.

it was interesting to see that there are worse people than Kellans father outthere in the world. I am surprised that his father has even feelings. And glad to see Kellan and Reiches are rejoined as they were

Very much enjoying spending my evening commute with these characters on there adventure. It has become the norm for me now; But now I have to wait for the next book to get published on audible. I can't wait!

The main character...you grow to like him, and completely understand his pet's (*giggle*) sarcastic comments. Together they are a riot!

Loved it

These books are simply great!! Brilliantly written, fantastically narrated and are so easy to listen too.
For a book based almost solely on magic, it’s amazing how it doesn’t overpower the book... often an overpowered magic spell ruins books as it’s just a get out of jail free card, but the balance here is perfect.
Finished just in time for the next book’s release date! :)
