Özet

The Night Lords - traitors and killers who use fear as a weapon - face threats from within and without as they struggle to rebuild their Legion and continue to fight the Long War.

Listen to it because:

It's an assured and confident second novel from Aaron Dembski-Bowden that kicks off one of the most acclaimed and beloved series in Black Library history - and it's a chance to see the Long War from the Night Lords' perspective!

The story:

The Night Lords were once among the most potent forces of the Imperium, Space Marines who used fear itself as their weapon. Now, cast adrift from the Emperor's light and hunted as heretics after their monstrous betrayal, the Night Lords clad themselves in symbols of death and fight the Long War, bringing pain and terror to all who worship the corpse-god of Terra.

A summons from Warmaster Abaddon sends these rebels on a dangerous journey that leads inexorably to a conflict with the Emperor's chosen warriors, the Blood Angels.

Written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Running time 13 hours and 5 minutes. Narrated by Andrew Wincott.

Love this book must of read it 6 times this year alone. First claw are great but the voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Septimus is not a bumbling idiot by any means it was really disappointing to hear him portrayed as one when he’s a smart individual. If they had used a better budget like in throne of lies this would of been amazing. The story itself is not in question here it’s just the narrators performance

great book shame about the acting

Great story, and introduction to the night lords, makes you care about the ‘bad guys’ brilliant insight, can’t wait to get the next one

Loved the voice actor. If I were to summarize the story and setting with one word it would be: "cool as fuck"
The book doesn't give long winded descriptions about the material composition of the fecal matter staining the walls like the horus heresy books. It was always easy to imagine the scenes playing out in my head.
