Dr. John Rayburn is a man of conviction—a healer, a father, and a believer in the unshakable values of God, Family, and Country. When three of his sons go off to fight in World War II, they return changed—hardened by combat, humbled by loss, and haunted by the experiences of war. John and his son Theodore channel their skills into something enduring: the first surgical clinic in their small town of Pontotoc.
What begins as a modest practice evolves into a full-scale hospital, serving as a lifeline for the community. The Rayburns’ legacy of service and sacrifice earns them respect and admiration—but behind the public praise lies a quieter story of pain: battles with illness, the pain of loss, and the cost of caring for others while trying to hold themselves together.
Small Town Doctors is a profoundly moving portrait of a family bound by purpose and tested by life. It’s about the people they saved, the wounds they carried, and the enduring power of love, faith, and tradition in a world that refuses to stand still.
