They tried to kill him—now he wants revenge.

Someone is killing old spies. Retired and forgotten, these relics from the Cold War are being removed—quietly and brutally.

And when “Section D” MI5 agent Tom Marlowe, on medical leave after a botched mission, learns his old mentor is one of the murdered ex-agents, he starts an investigation that threatens to cost him his career, his freedom…and even his life.

Uncovering a conspiracy linked to a late-80s operation called RUBICON, one involving long-forgotten Russian sleeper agents, now operating in the highest echelons of Westminster, Marlowe is thrown down a rabbit hole that forces him off the grid and on the run, hunted by his own people.

Out in the cold, with his air supply cut off, burned from working with any allied agency and with only disavowed spies to rely on, Marlowe must try to clear his name and expose this threat, before the US President is assassinated during his next London visit….

Gripping, thrilling, filled with action and written by New York Times number one best sellerTony Lee writing as Jack Gatland, Sleeping Soldiers is perfect for fans of James Patterson, Mark Dawson, Lee Child, Mick Herron, and Robert Ludlum, among others.

Well read by Turton and with a good plot and characterisation that keep you hooked and guessing.

Another action filled Gatland

Great pacing and an interesting plot, but sadly very hackneyed too. All the tropes from every modern spy story are there from the secret bunkers that are mined, to the conveniently secure and clean vehicles all ready for mayhem's arrival. Maybe it's not interesting to see how one would go about creating and supporting all this emergency infrastructure, but at the end of the day, there are only so many spy plots. While there is some gory violence, its generally clean, safe, and fair - the lack of adult scenes and profanity would make this a good choice for younger (teen) readers who want a good action yarn.

Great pacing
