New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed. Keira Kilgore, you're now the property of Lachlan Mount.

Wow what a great start to this series, full of intrigue and suspense as well as some great sex, so excited for Defiant Queen. Would highly recommend

This is #1 of the Mount Trilogy and I really liked the tempo of this book. It's quite slow paced but the development is good.

The story is set in New Orleans and the FMC is a grieving widow who finds herself having to repay a debt to a bad man to keep her whisky business.

The MMC has very kinky tastes, the ruler of the town, demanding and actually I wouldn't mind having a bad man like this at all!

What makes this an interesting tale is the chemistry between the MCs as they are both feisty and it is a battle of wills.

The twist at the end leaves me downloading #2 immediately.

An Enjoyable New Orleans Tale

It’s a cracking start to the Mount Trilogy as Lachlan asserts his dominance over Keira. But she’s feisty and defiant as she pushes Mount to the limits. It’s a fantastic read that’s exciting and thrilling with a brilliant twist. I couldn’t put it down!

I loved it!
