An authorized agent again, Charlie Muffin must thwart an assassination attempt that could turn the tides of the Cold War

It could be the most sensational defection of all time. The head of the Russian KGB’s cipher section comes with every code, every plot, every secret. But his most startling disclosure of all is that the Russians are planning a shocking assassination.

But the defector doesn’t know who. Or where. Or how. Or when. All Charlie knows is that he must stop the murder from happening - without being marked for death himself.

most of this series has been excellent and I'm comparing this to other stories in the series so whilst this is a pretty good book it's not as good as others but don't let that put you off its still worth a listen

Well written and narrated, I enjoyed this book very much. I think it was my favourite storyline so far of the series.

Another good Charlie Muffin spy thriller

Well narrated as usually shame not all Charlie Muffin books are not available in this medium.

This series goes from strength to strength with another scintillating gripping episode fantastically narrated to enhance the drama and pace of the plot. Charlie navigates the crisis like hopping across the crenelations of the famous Swiss chocolate bar.

Charlie, out in the cold again in Switzerland, lances into action at every place, not accepting the errors and omissions and downright carelessness from foes and friends alike; a one man platoon advancing on his perfect enemy. Love the intricacies this author weaves into the tale. Very enjoyable indeed. Thanks for the freebee Audible. RECOMMENDED

I came across the series when Audible put them in the Plus library. I've enjoyed 1-9 straight through and will get to No 10 once I've finished this review! Thoroughly enjoyable shenanigans with deceit, twists, turns and sparkle, with a soupcon of shabby.

Why haven't I come across Charlie Muffin before, despite having read for 60 years?
