The new instalment of The Working Girls series from the queen of urban crime, Heather Burnside.

Ruby has always been strong. Growing up with a feeble mother and an absent father, she is forced to fight the battles of her younger siblings. And when a childhood experience leaves her traumatised, her distrust of men turns to hatred. With no safe place to call home, Ruby is desperate to fit in with the tough crowd. She spends her teenage years sleeping around and drinking in the park, and by the time she is sixteen, prostitution has become a way of life. But Ruby has ambitions, and she soon moves up the ladder to become the madam of her own brothel. But being in charge of a brothel has its down sides, Ruby faces her worst nightmare when an enemy from the past comes back into her life, and gang intimidation threatens to ruin everything. Can she find a way to beat her tormentors?©2019 Heather Burnside (P)2021 W. F. Despite the low ratings on the narrator and storyline. I have to say I disagree. I really enjoyed this book

As good as the first book

Story is a little pointless and very slow. The narrator is not able to bring the characters to life. I found myself wishing it would hurry up and end. The previous book was a little better but this just doesn’t hit the mark

Not the usual gripping gang land

Not much to like, narration was just so repetitive and had no real feeling to it

Really boring, narrator was awful

Boring storyline, can't believe I even paid to listen to it! Jumped back and forward to which was just confusing because the name changes!
