Psalm of the Tear: Book II, Room 316.

Written by Joshua Bish, Narrated by Ashen Morire.

Some rooms don’t just hold memories. They keep secrets buried alive.

Campus police officer Steven Kent thought he had seen the worst Concord University had to offer—until a missing student's case led him to Room 316. The room is quiet. Too quiet. No sounds. No heat. No trace. Just the lingering scent of something wrong.

As more students vanish and reports of strange happenings escalate, Kent begins to uncover a terrifying legacy hidden within the bricks of Sarvey Hall. The deeper he digs, the more the room fights back—twisting reality, unearthing traumas, and drawing him toward something ancient, watching, and hungry.

With no one else willing to believe him, Kent must confront the darkness creeping through the halls before Room 316 claims him too.

Room 316 is the second audiobook in the critically chilling Psalms of the Tear series. With haunting narration by Ashen Morire, this installment descends into a mystery where horror bleeds through the walls, and even silence can scream.

I enjoyed listening to Room 316. The story builds on the unsettling atmosphere of the first book and keeps the tension high from beginning to end. The mystery surrounding the disappearances and the secrets hidden within Sarvey Hall creates a constant sense of dread, while the psychological elements make the horror feel even more unsettling. Ashen Morire’s narration adds the perfect eerie tone, bringing the suspense and creeping fear to life. Fans of supernatural horror, haunted locations, and slow-burning mysteries will find plenty to enjoy in this haunting continuation of the series.

This is a very up-and-coming writer, and I'm glad to read or listen to pretty much anything he does to follow up with this. Good writing is good writing. I found this interesting and compelling and quick. I enjoyed it.

Room 316 masterfully blurs the lines between reality and perception, showing how fear, trauma, and the unknown can twist what we think we’re experiencing.. a striking reminder of the mind’s power in shaping how we process horror, stress, and danger. At the same time, the story underscores that attention to detail truly matters. Even subtle clues, faint scents, or small anomalies can hint at something far more sinister, emphasizing the importance of staying observant, trusting our instincts, and noticing the 'lil things that others might overlook. Together, these elements make the tension feel real and keep listeners constantly on edge.

I threw this on expecting a quick, creepy listen, and it definitely delivered more atmosphere than I was ready for. Room 316 pulls you in pretty fast with the missing student case, but what stuck with me was how unsettling everything around the room feels, it’s not loud, jump-scare horror, it’s more that quiet, “something is very wrong here” kind of vibe.

Highly recommend

This audiobook continues the story with even more suspense and darker moments. The mystery around the room grows deeper, and the tension builds as strange events keep happening. I liked how the story follows a new point of view, which adds more depth and keeps things interesting. The atmosphere feels intense and unsettling, making it hard to stop listening. The narration is strong and fits the tone perfectly, adding to the overall experience. A great choice for listeners who enjoy dark, mysterious horror with a steady sense of fear.
