A genetically modified virus mutates, transforming everyone it infects into zombies, wiping out most of the human race. A brilliant second instalment of the series. The characters continue their quest to find safety, with the story expanding to bring in new characters and new ideas. This book has an excellent pace, it delves into the emotion of those experiencing the apocalypse an the loss of their families and friends. The story has parts where you want to cheer, parts when you laugh out loud (Labrador scene !!) and parts where you really feel the emotion and trauma that the characters are dealing with.
I love the fact that is book is UK based, it does not include every person welding a massive machine gun, but shows how people can band together, work out a strategy and endeavour to survive - off to buy the next audible instalment!

Great to continue the storyline and hear what happens to the survivors on their journey through the zombie apocalypse!

at the end of the 4 books available so far and after getting through the books one after the other I hit the limit to how many mistakes in reading transfer and performance this guy makes.
the story is solid and the writing is fair.

but when someone gets out of a car and gets back in with a different name or the adopted child suddenly doesn't ever get mentioned again after they talk about their kids being in bed etc.....
gets bloody annoying.

I know some people look deep into stories and pick them apart. But not all of us want to listen to heavy, deep audible books..... Sometimes just to listen to a book that is easy and an escape from the real world is good.
Really enjoyed and looking forward to the next book in the series.
Also the same author is awaiting UK Dark books to coming to audible.

Easy listening fantasy

I wish I was more articulate, so I could wax lyrical about all the ways I hated this story.
It’s as dull as it is episodic. Pushed in a relentless third person perspective full of inane details. It reads like it was written for a GCSE creative writing exam.
Maybe it would’ve been more interesting if it weren’t read by a robot. The guy literally speaks with delivery, no variety of tone at all.
Don’t waste your money. And shame on the people that produced this utterly banal and insultingly bad price of work!

Like if a 15 year old fed prompts to an ai chat bot. And then the ai chat bot decided it wanted to become a voice actor!
