Blood, chrome, and betrayal.

Sergeant Harry Kabutt has seen better days. He's been shot down, blown up, and tossed to the wayside by the corporations, left to rot in a ratty apartment in gang territory.

His own limbs? Shredded, cut away, and left to rot on a mountainside. The replacement mods? Likely to fall apart or leave him to die of sepsis.

No longer an operator of the feared APS mecha, Kabutt has hit rock bottom. But he's on foot, he's armed, and he's in serious pain…

…now it's time to take that pain and spread it around the mega-city of Artem. See who flinches first.

Revenge never goes out of fashion.

Well I finished listening to my first Artem book yesterday and I have to say I loved the way that both Christopher and Jessica brought Jez's characters to life. Really enjoyed the premise of the cyberpunk theme and the gritty undertone.

Usual humour both dark and light and a relatable environment. While listening to the story I was drawn back to Blade Runneresque imagery and also the slums that unfortunately exist in todays society.

Back alley deals and mayhem a great mix, with a military edge.

Looking forward to book 2 when audio releases and a great start into the Artem books. I will definitely be grabbing the other works as the audio becomes available.

A really interesting take on post apocalypse that as it goes keep adding onto itself with curveballs you don't expect. Races, wars, politics, religion and more. This makes it all a broader tale where you find lots to relate to or feel interested in, and not just a straight line to violence.

Characters feels well thought out, and sure it can get a bit heavy on the xxx talk...but it never goes for too long, so it mixes in well.

Sadly tho, only 2 books of this specific main character as i just realized, but hoping a third will come out soon.
