After adventuring beyond the wall for over a year, Elaine has her triumphant return home!

A high level doesn't mean all challenges are solved, though. She's got a brand new hatchling to try and keep alive. General Augustus staged a military coup, becoming Emperor Augustus. Julius is missing. Artemis is enslaved.

Will she be able to keep Auri alive? Free Artemis? Find out what happened with Julius? And can she avoid the machinations of the new Emperor?

Most importantly—Is her family still alive?

Other than a few moments and a fantastic ending this book is the most laid back of the series so far. it let's us see more of remus than before and how it works.
Great narration yet again and a return of some of my favourite characters like artemis and night.

slight spoiler.

Have something ready for tears for last 2 chapters. they tuck the heart strings something fierce.

most chilled book so far

Great narration as all ways and an exciting place to take the story in future books

Good continuation

I SAID ENOUGH SAID! 🤣 apparently audible disagrees with it's 15 word minimum, so I'll just say this... ENOUGH SAID! 🤣

That ending though...

binged the series and will continue to do so. enough said.

The book is about as good as book 6, I would give it a 4/5 story and a 5/5 performance, if it wasn’t for the ending.
I have listend to many books, never has one had an ending as self destructive and unsatisfying as this one. I have not seen Game of Thrones but i’d assume it’s ending is far, far, far better than this one.

Overall I enjoyed the book, but the ending killed any interest I had in the series or spending a credit on book 8.

Decent book, horrible ending
