Did you ever have one of those books that you start, and you know it's going to be the one you love the most for the year? I went into this book cold, knowing it was full of triggers, a little on the dark side, but that didn't deter me. And I am so glad I did. I love Evelyn Montgomery, from her Destined Hearts series to her retelling of Peter Pan, but this, this is different. Rose is broken, not only from the loss of her husband, but from her past. Now she can't seem to let go of that past, and pull out her confidence to go on. It's a struggle. When she meets Justin, there is an instant chemistry, but he too has similar ghosts that haunt him. It's a push pull, each not knowing the boundaries, but wanting to cross them. And then the most unthinkable happens. Darkness is evident, all around and it's hard to get away from it until the true light shines. This book is going to stay with me for a long time. It's life at the bottom as these two work to crawl up and out. I loved this and it has risen to the top of my listens.

Savannah Thomas and Jason Clarke. That should be all I need to say but I will put out there that Thomas's desperation, and darkness is so real, and her accent just made it that much better. As she worked through her issues, her light shone through her voice. Clarke was so broken, so true to Justin's feelings, it was heartbreaking. He too kept the sunshine moving til it was bright. Loved this narration, it enhanced the book and was fantastic.

WOW!! This is at the top of my favorites!
