My past is my nightmare. It’s something I can’t escape, the memories haunting me whenever I close my eyes.

I have a dark secret digging its claws deeper into my soul each day. It’s the reason I isolate myself, never allowing anyone to get too close. Except Max. Forever my good friend.

He has secrets too. I can see them in his eyes, the darkness of unspoken mysteries that mirrors my own.

So many years looking over my shoulder, waiting for my past to catch me. All was quiet and foolishly, I started to hope I might be safe. But I was wrong. Dead wrong.

Somehow, my past coerces its way back into my life, and Max is the only person I can trust. Turns out his freedom is just as much at risk as mine.

What started out as friendship turns into something more as we join forces against those determined to destroy us. Together, we’re fighting for our lives and risking it all to win the war.

Relentless Night by S.M. West is a romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Devra Woodward and Stephen Dexter.

This is the forth book in the New York Knights Series. They shouldn’t be read as a standalone since they have interlinking storylines. It will be part of a five book series.

I absolutely love Suzanne’s books! I loved getting Tommie and Max’s story. I loved the chemistry between them and really enjoyed that their relationship bloomed from friendship. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Broken Night to be released on audio so I can get Tripp and Mia’s Story.

Devra and Stephen did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you love romantic suspense.

I listened to Relentless Night before listening to any other books in the series. Other couples are mentioned that are likely the other books in the series and there are a some references to previous events, but I didn't have to listen to any previous books to enjoy this one. It would be best to listen in order if you're going to listen to more than one. I did like the characters, though I felt like Tommie made the same mistake a few times and I was wondering how long it would take her to learn from her mistakes. Overall, I liked the story and would listen to more in the series.

Devra Woodward and Stephen Dexter both did a great job with the narration. This one the first one I've listened to by Stephen Dexter, though I'm not sure how I've gone this long without coming across him. They are both talented performers and I would listen to both Stephen and Devra again.

Excellent narration, interesting series

Oh my. This book is excellent. With an ongoing storyline throughout all the books in the series the plot thickens more and more. The writing style of Suzanne is phenomenal to keep a reader/listener hooked throughout so many books and still have them wanting more is amazing. A fantastic performance from both Debra and Stephen.

What a ride! I love this series and this book is a slow burn, suspense filled romance! This book features Tommie and Max, best friends who are finding their feelings are more than just friends. But there is something in Tommie's past that is getting in the way. She is hiding, few people know what her life was like and she is not sure if Max will understand. And as in most cases, your past comes back to haunt you, and Tommie finds herself in danger, and making decisions to keep those she loves safe. It's full of twists and turns, unlikely allies, hateful enemies and a love like no other. We also get a chance to see our favorite characters from previous books which makes us feel that sense of friends and family. I am loving this series and can't wait to see what SM West has next for us.

The narration of this book was spot on. A better casting could not have been made. Devra Woodward is fantastic and brings all the elements of Tommie to life. She is complex, has had so much happen to her that Woodward had her work cut out for her pouring all the strength and emotions into her performance. Stephen Dexter, always amazing brings a fantastic partner in Max. He is so emotional when it comes to Tommie that you can feel his panic, fear and love, and then he turns the tide and gives us a formidable opponent to fight. I love this team and they were amazing.

Max & Tommie!

Wow! I didn’t think this series could get any better but it just did. Relentless Night (New York Knights #4) is amazing, as are Max and Tommie. It’s dark, gritty, but there are sweet and tender moments too in this brilliant, friends to lovers, romance that’s brought to life by the fantastic narrators. I loved it!

Brilliant series!
