'Fierce and fascinating. This is the story Red Sonja has always deserved. Unmissable'

'An epic debut novel from one of the most entertaining writers on the planet'
TOM TAYLOR

It's time to rage, drink and fight like a barbarian! Red Sonja, the iconic She-Devil with a Sword, will meet a new generation of readers in this action-packed epic fantasy by legendary comic book writer Gail Simone, making her novel-writing debut.

Hot-headed, charismatic and always unapologetically herself, Red Sonja, the ferocious She-Devil and barbarian of Hyrkania has never concerned herself with the consequences of her actions. She's pursued all her desires, from treasure, to drink, to the companionship of bedfellows. She's fought those who deserve it (and sometimes those who didn't). And she's never looked back.

But when rumours start bubbling up from her homeland - rumours of unknown horrors emerging from the ground and pulling their unsuspecting victims to their deaths - she realises she may have to return to the country that abandoned her. Sonja must finally do the only thing that ever scared her: confront her past.

Gail Simone is one of my favourite comic writers and she seems to have mastered prose with alarming ease too. I'm less familiar with Sonja herself but I found this a great, action-packed and character rich adventure with Felicia Day showing her skills whether narrating or portraying the good, the bad and the creepy aspects of the cast.

Amazing mix of rich character and big adventure

I am a fan of Sonja, Gail Simeone, and Felicia Day, and this audiobook of 'Consumed' is the perfect match of all three.

Simeone writes a Sonja tale which will delight fans of old, while making it an excellent introduction for new readers.

And Felicia Day's performance is simply stunning. One of the best audiobook readings I've experienced.

Here's hoping this is the 1st of many collaborations!

Swords and sorcery, with a bravura performance!

Having just consumed (ha) this amazing novel it's an incredibly easy decision now to say I will be buying every single novel Gail Simone will ever write.

I was expecting a higher standard of story and narration. The voicing of the male characters sounded bored and tired at times, the story was pretty predictable and weak. Pretty poor world building too. Just felt like it was trying too hard at times.

Poor narration, mediocre story.
