She must fight to prove herself . . . before it's too late

DCI Jane Tennison came through the ranks the hard way, opposed and resented at every step by her male colleagues.

When a prostitute is found murdered in her bedsit, the Metropolitan police set to work finding the perpetrator of this brutal attack. DNA samples lead them straight to known-criminal George Marlow. The police think they've found their man, but things are not quite what they seem. . .

Desperate to remove all doubt around her suspect, Tennison struggles to make the charges stick. And then a second body turns up.

With the team against her, DCI Jane Tennison is in a race against time to catch a dangerous criminal - and prove she's just as tough as any man.

Based on the award-winning TV series starring Helen Mirren, the complete and unabridged Prime Suspect trilogy is now available for the first time in audio. The narrator has done an excellent job with the narration! She manages to do all the different characters, a lot of them male, and really bring them to life. She does actually sound like Helen Mirren as Tennison! Brilliant.

Very good

I listened to the 3 books in the ‘Widows’ series and the follow up book ’Buried’. I enjoyed them so thought I’d give this a listen.
The story was good but it feels so outdated listening to it in this day and age…still that’s the way it was back then. Being of a certain age myself I remember it well. Younger listeners may not get many of the references used or comprehend just how hard it was for women to be taken seriously it what was perceived to be ‘a man’s world’ which may impact on the credibility and therefore enjoyment of the book.

Enjoyable but outdated

This is set in the 90s when sexism was rife. It just makes you realise how far we have come. Still a long way to go but attitudes to women in s position of power are changing albeit slowly.
Bit cliche in parts but an entertaining read.

Good story and narration
