Matthew Ross
This book explores presidential reactions to major crises of recent decades, such as the Second World War, the build up of arms in Cuba, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, the Iran rescue mission, September 11th, Somalia, Hurricane Katrina, the BP Oil Spill, and gun violence. Reactions to these events are given in the president's own words through the speeches they gave at the time with additional commentary by Matthew Ross. This unique series offers a way to review the first-hand reactions of presidents to critical events of recent decades at the time the events occurred. This collection includes 10 separate speeches across seven presidential administrations, from Roosevelt to Obama.
