Insane cult trying to undermine the stability of society? Powerful mage whose very presence unmakes the world?

John doesn’t care. He’s getting married.

After rescuing Katrine, sealing himself into a manaless state, and defending against the most dangerous beast tide the world has ever seen, John only has one thing on his mind. Getting married, and going on a honeymoon. Oh, and trying to figure out a way to keep the world in one piece.

That quest will take him to worlds unknown, and pit him against enemies beyond anything he has ever faced. Thankfully, he’s not alone, and between Ellie and Ferdie, he has the best companions a simple farmer could ask for.

Soooooo, when will he meet Thorn????? I have a sneaky suspicion that this will merge in to the tower series, after Nova Terra. At least I hope so :)

Is this a duology? This feels like a duoligy!

Wish it was longer, enjoying the way it's seems to be integrating with the Tower series. Can't wait to the next book.

Another fantastic book in the series.

i think this mightve been the first book in this series i didnt wholeheartedly love. john and elly in candle scholar tower did not have the same energy and vibe that ive grown to expect. especially elly changing to be more violent was not great, but mostly in how it was executed. there was way too little introspection or talk between them about ellys first kill for instance. the story seemed to lack focus maybe as well, it read like one of those stories that doesnt have much of their own arc but rather is a set up or build up to a bigger arc or ending.

the dip in the series
