When an EMP strikes, plunging the West Coast into chaos, Alan Hughes must lead a group of boys stranded far from their Alaskan home, while his wife, Zara, prepares their homestead for long-term survival. With communication down and society crumbling, they face impossible choices in this gripping post-EMP survival thriller. Perfect for fans of EMP survival fiction and dystopian novels, this story dives deep into the challenges of off-grid living, prepping for the end of the world, and the fight for survival against overwhelming odds.

I love a disaster, but this feels like it plays to every stereotype under the sun. Zero representation of anyone who seems non-white. The writing is sometimes irritating, with repeating identical adjectives or verbs in a single sentence, or in the next sentence. It felt predictable and started to feel quite slow moving. I eventually gave up after 10 chapters.
